About Final Approach

Every day, one busy arrivals session at a fictional airport: ten to fourteen aircraft inbound, one or two runways, and the rules real controllers work by. Put the aircraft in order, then watch them land on the radar. The fewer minutes of delay, the better. A new shift starts every day at 00:00 UTC (5:30 am in India).

What's real

Aircraft leave wake turbulence behind them, so a light aircraft has to keep further back from a heavy one than from another light one. The game uses the international spacing rules for that, turned into seconds at a typical approach speed. Runways turn round when the wind changes, inspections shut them, and storms push arrivals around, as they do. The airport, the airlines and the callsigns are made up.
